FAQS

How do you pronounce "Trieschmann"?

It’s pronounced "Trish-man." Some people affectionately refer to the house as "The Trish."

A simple way to remember how to spell "Trieschmann" is:

  1. "Trie" – Think of "Try" with an "ie"
  2. "sch" – Like the first three letters of "school"
  3. "mann" – Just "man," but with two "n"s.
Where do I park?

Please park in the driveway on the right (south) side of the property. While two cars can fit side by side, we recommend parking on one side to avoid blocking your neighbor. For the easiest exit, many guests find it helpful to park at a slight angle. You’re also welcome to continue past the carriage house and park on the grass, all the way back to the alleyway (I highly recommend this for events).

If the driveway is full, you may park across the street at the Boy Scout Hut. Look for the yellow poles and rope.

If you'd rather not back onto Cedar Street as you exit, you can drive straight into the alley. This is a convenient option for those with boats and trailers! Just a heads-up, alleys aren't designed for regular use, so they may not always be in perfect condition. While the City of Crossett works hard to maintain them, utility vehicles frequently use the alleys, especially in wet conditions, which can affect their state. Repairs may not always be immediate.

Which door do I use?

Escape Room Guests:

Please use the back door through the covered walkway.

Event or Overnight Guests:

We love for guests to experience the charm of The Trieschmann House through the front entrance, which offers the best first impression. That said, if you’re unloading or parked in the driveway, feel free to enter through the back door (covered walkway) for convenience.

Tour or Murder Mystery Guests:

Please enter through the front door on the big porch. If it’s raining, you’re welcome to use the back entrance (covered walkway) instead.

Are children allowed?

Of course! We just ask that you be mindful of their safety (e.g., stairs, unfenced yard) and considerate of other guests, particularly when it comes to noise levels.

For events, this is completely at the guardian's discretion. Obviously, murder mysteries and escape rooms may not be appropriate for children.

Are pets allowed?

Only service animals are allowed.

Respectful Use Policy

We strive to create a welcoming and comfortable environment for all our guests. To help us do that, we ask everyone to follow these guidelines:

  1. Alcohol is welcome on the property. Please enjoy responsibly and be mindful of others.
  2. Smoking and vaping are allowed outdoors only in designated areas. Smoking is not permitted indoors.
  3. Legally obtained recreational substances may be used privately within your room by guests of legal age and in accordance with all applicable laws.

Thank you for helping us maintain a space that’s safe, respectful, and enjoyable for everyone.

Is The Trieschmann House handicap accessible?

Due to the time period it was built, the house unfortunately is not handicap accessible. However, we are working through solutions to make the house more usable for all.

All escape rooms are upstairs. We know this limits those able to participate, but are working on offering escape rooms at other locations. If you are interested in participating in an escape room, but are unable to climb stairs, please reach out to us.

What is the difference between an entire house booking and an overnight stay?

With an entire house booking only you have access to The Trieschmann House. There will be no escape rooms, murder mysteries, or people you personally have not invited. This type of booking is ideal for those who will be hosting gatherings.

Overnight stays offer complete privacy in your own room, while the rest of the house is shared space (similar to a hotel). Only those listed on the booking are permitted. This setup is perfect for those who want to experience the beauty and charm of the Trieschmann House, with the option to interact with others in the community. Depending on your booking date, you might find yourself as the only guest, making the entire house peaceful and private.

Overnight Guests

How does self check-in work?

Guests receive personalized access codes for the exterior door and their individual bedroom prior to arrival. This allows for easy, contactless check-in at your convenience.

What time is check-in and check-out?

Check-in is 3pm or later.

Check-out is 11am

If you need a different arrival or check-out time, feel free to reach out in advance.

How is temperature controlled?

Each bedroom has its own air conditioning unit for individual comfort. Heating is centrally controlled for the entire house.

Are overnight stays suitable for events or gatherings?

Individual bedroom bookings are designed for comfortable lodging only. If you’re looking to host a gathering, party, or special event, separate arrangements are required.

For entire-house bookings, we welcome events—but we ask that you share a few details ahead of time, including the nature of the event and the total number of guests. This helps us ensure the home is perfectly prepared for your group and that everyone enjoys a seamless, memorable experience.

Can I use the kitchen?

Absolutely. Guests are welcome to use the full kitchen. We simply ask that you clean up after yourself so the space stays enjoyable for everyone.

What is your cleaning schedule?

If you book the entire house, cleaning will not be provided during your stay unless you have made arrangements with us.

All other times, The Trieschmann House has a cleaning schedule similar to a hotel.

Are bathrooms shared?

Yes, except for the Rosemary Antoinette Suite.

What should I bring with me?

Just your personal items. Freshly laundered linens, extra blankets, and thoughtfully stocked household essentials are provided in every stay. The kitchen and laundry room is fully equipped and available for guest use.

While we look forward to introducing curated local spa products, we currently offer a selection of backup toiletries should you forget something at home.

To ensure a seamless stay, guests also have access to garment care and personal-comfort amenities including: irons and ironing boards, steamers, hair dryers, styling tools, sewing kits, and lint rollers.

Cancelation Policies

General Cancelation and Refund Policy

A fundamental truth in life is that unforeseen circumstances are inevitable. We strive to treat you with consideration and respect, while still keeping the integrity of our business.

We have the right to change our policies at any time. However, whatever the policy is at the time of your booking, will be applied to you (not the newest policy).

Overnight Stays - What is your cancelation policy?

Guests receive a full refund if they cancel within 72 hours of their scheduled booking. For example: If you are set to arrive on Thursday the 23rd at 3pm, you may cancel and receive a full refund if you contact us by Monday the 20th at 3pm.

Guest receive a 50% refund if they cancel within 48 hours of their scheduled arrival. However, if they reschedule for another date, they can apply the full amount they already spent to their next stay.

Guests will NOT receive a refund if they cancel or reschedule within 24 hours of booking arrival.

Reminder: This is not the policy for entire house bookings.

Escape Rooms - What is your cancellation policy?

We do not have an official policy.

Because murder mysteries vary, sometimes refunds can be applied and other times they can not. That information will be provided for each experience before booking.

Events & Entire House Rental - What is your cancelation policy?

This will vary based on date, size, and type of gathering. You will be provided with the terms before scheduling is confirmed.
